Triennial local election: second Saturday of October 2028 under the Local Electoral Act 2001 (date computed, not yet gazetted). The Government has proposed abolishing elected regional councils (consultation to 20 Feb 2026, legislation expected 2026-27), so the council may not be elected in 2028.
