What it can do
- Legislate and set taxes
Legislates on all matters not reserved to another power, establishes taxes and contributions, and votes the annual General Budget Law. Art. 93(1).
- Approve treaties, loans and states of exception
Approves or rejects international treaties and conventions, public debt and credits signed by the Executive, and authorises the President to declare states of exception. Art. 93(1).
- Oversee the Executive
Examines the acts of the Executive, summons ministers and officials before its commissions, appoints investigative commissions and supervises public policy. Art. 93(2).
