What it can do
- Invest and hold the Government to account
Constitution arts. 99, 108-113: the Congress invests the President of the Government, can pass a motion of censure, and the Government is collectively accountable to it.
- Final say over most legislation
Constitution art. 90: the Senate may veto or amend bills, but the Congress can override a veto by absolute majority, or simple majority after two months.
