What it can do
- Advises the territorial government
Advises the Minister on what works or services the area needs and how they should be supplied, desirable regulations and any other local matter (Municipal Act, s. 40). It acts only by resolution (s. 42.01), cannot pass bylaws or tax, and works within the operating budget the Government of Yukon funds (s. 44).
